BUYING YOUR BOAT
Bespoke boats
An initial deposit of £1,500 secures your build slot. We will then work with you on the detailed
plans for your boat, eg where the windows/portholes are to go, placement of bulkheads, etc. Plans will be
drawn with the exact measurements - click here to see an example - and once these are agreed, the plans go
to your chosen shell fabricator.
A week before the shell is delivered to our workshop, the next payment is due - this would be approximately 33% of the total cost of the boat. At this point, once you have made the payment, ownership of the shell and all subsequent fittings etc.
passes to you.
Once the bulkheads are in place and the line out is complete, the next payment is due. This would also be approximately 33% of the total cost of the boat.
When the boat is finished and ready for delivery, the next payment becomes due - about 30% of the cost - with the final payment becoming due one week after delivery.
If you order any extras during the course of the build, the cost of the extras is added to the next invoice.
LOCKMASTER Line
If the LOCKMASTER is already in the process of being built and is passed the stage where you can make any choices, then a deposit of £2,500 is payable with the balance
becoming payable when the boat is finished and ready for delivery. Ownership of the boat does not pass
to you until the second payment has been made.
If you order your LOCKMASTER before the build has begun, then you pay a deposit of £1,500 to reserve the boat. Having made your choices regarding livery, toilet, flooring, etc. the payment schedule will be similar to that of the bespoke boats, with ownership passing to you when you make the payment relating to the shell.
If you reserve your LOCKMASTER part way through the build when you still have the opportunity to choose some of the features, we will agree a payment schedule at the time you reserve your boat.
If the rate of VAT changes during the build of a boat, any changes will be passed to the client.
